Climate Change Commission annual emissions monitoring report released
He Pou a Rangi - Climate Change Commission has released its annual monitoring report on New Zealand's emissions reductions.
Emissions reduction monitoring report (Climate Change Commission)
Every year, the Climate Change Commission publishes this report to provide independent analysis of New Zealand's progress to reduce emissions.
The emissions reduction monitoring report covers progress toward New Zealand’s 2050 target and the first three emissions budgets, progress toward implementing the second emissions reduction plan, and opportunities to reduce emissions.
The report is one of several regular touchpoints throughout the year that provides evidence of how we are tracking towards our climate change targets.
The Government now has three months to consider and respond to the Commission’s report. It will publish its response by October 2026.
