Independent Moa Point Crown Review report released
The Government has released the independent Crown Review Team’s final report into the failure of the Moa Point Wastewater Treatment Plant and the flooding event of 4 February 2026.
The Crown Review Team was appointed to examine matters relating to the incident, including governance, oversight, asset management, funding, contractual arrangements and operational practices.
The Ministry of Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport has provided secretariat support to the independent Crown Review Team. The report and its findings are the work of the Crown Review Team.
