Otago Central Lakes deal
The Otago Central Lakes Deal was signed on 6 October 2026.
It brings together Queenstown Lakes District Council, Central Otago District Council, Otago Regional Council with the Government in a shared commitment to plan, invest and deliver together for the long-term benefit of the region and New Zealand.
The Deal leverages New Zealand’s premier tourist destination by attracting investment to deliver a business and lifestyle experience that is a magnet for new and international investment, entrepreneurship and production, to amplify the region’s growth, economic diversification and resilience.
